Hi, I’m Dickon
I’m a marketing and communications resource using my skills to address the climate crisis. With a background in digital media and advanced degrees in sustainability and social change, I work to engage and influence audiences on climate-related issues.
I’ve spent more than 15 years working within marketing and communications, with experience across industries and causes including offshore renewable energy, the circular economy, coastal resilience, and the plastic pollution crisis.
I mentor startups in the ocean and climate space, support international organizations, including UNFCCC, in their climate communications capacity building efforts, and host the Communicating Climate Change podcast, exploring practical insights from diverse disciplines to help empower others in making a positive impact.
I hold an MSc in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social, Economic, and Environmental Sustainability from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and an MPhil in Development, Environment, and Cultural Change from the University of Oslo’s Centre for Development and the Environment. I’ve published research in the journal, Environmental Communication.
Combining learnings from my studies with my operational and strategic marketing and communications experience, my work focuses on creating effective engagement about climate change, the associated challenges, and a range of intersectional issues to motivate meaningful outcomes.
I’m always looking for new ways to apply my skills, experience, and creativity to making a difference. If you’d like to work together to make that happen, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
